Literacy Footprints

Literacy Footprints is a Guided Reading system designed for classroom teachers, intervention, ELL, Special Education teachers, and support staff who are teaching children to read and write. Powerful lesson cards accompany our high-quality leveled books in a variety of genres and follow Jan Richardson’s “Next Step” lesson format. Lessons also include word study and phonics instruction based on The Next Step Forward in Word Study and Phonics. Each kit also includes component materials designed by Jan Richardson and Michèle Dufresne to consistently support teachers throughout the lessons.

OPK has over 150 guided reading books leveling from A through G as well as digital online readers  K to 5th grade for students. Literacy Footprints uses Fountas and Pinnell leveling to gauge the reading level. A kindergartener should be reading at D level or beginning D level by the start of First grade.
